New Delhi, March 6: The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested 14 Aam Aadmi Party workers for the clashes that broke out on Wednesday outside the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in the city.

An FIR has also been registered against them on charges of rioting, damaging public property and obstructing public servants. The names of AAP leader Ashutosh and Shazia Ilmi are also included in the FIR, for allegedly leading the mob.

As many as 28 persons -- 13 AAP activists, 10 BJP supporters, four policemen and a mediaperson -- were injured in the clashes. Water canons were used to disperse the crowd outside the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters at Ashoka Road in central Delhi.

The clashes and stone pelting between AAP and BJP happened on Wednesday in Delhi, Lucknow and Gujarat. The attack in Gujarat was sparked off by the detention of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in the state.

Both the BJP and AAP are likely to meet the Election Commission on Thursday. The Delhi Police is also expected to submit its report on the incident to the EC on Thursday.
