₹135 Crore Approved for MSME Training Under RAMP Program in Bihar
The Industry Department has taken a significant step under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) program to promote entrepreneurship development. A specialized entrepreneurship development program has been designed to strengthen the capabilities of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and prepare them for the global market. As part of this initiative, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to enhance the efficiency of small, micro, and medium-scale industries in the state, ensure financial inclusion, and strengthen leadership skills. This initiative aims to enable these enterprises to compete at both national and international levels. The program will be implemented with the support of the Central Government and the World Bank.

Under this initiative, agreements have been signed with several prestigious institutions, including the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Chanakya Institute of Management (Patna), Indian Institute of Management (Bodh Gaya), Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET, Vaishali), and AMHSSC in Bhagalpur. These institutions will provide non-residential training to 80,000 MSMEs across the state, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a competitive business environment.
The training module includes essential topics such as digital and financial literacy, core manufacturing techniques, and leadership development. Additionally, it will focus on connecting products to markets, promoting business clusters, and facilitating access to both domestic and global markets. A key objective of this initiative is also to provide financial assistance to support MSMEs.
Under the RAMP program, five projects in Bihar have been approved with a total funding of ₹135 crore. The initiative aims to train 1 lakh MSMEs in various fields, including digital skills, financial management, key production techniques, and leadership development. Plans are also in place to establish training centers in every district.
A special focus will be given to boosting the export of GI-tagged products from Bihar. The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Industry Minister Nitish Mishra, Director of Technical Development at the Industry Department Shekhar Anand, Assistant Industry Director Nisha Kumar, and other officials.
