Across a tapestry of sacred spaces and bustling streets—Pudukottai, Tiruvannamalai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kerala, Bangalore, Delhi, and Kolkata—masses gathered, hands joined, and meals flowed like prayers made tangible. Beneath the hum of kitchens and the quiet reverence in eyes, the mission braided communities together with the thread of generosity and gratitude.

Mahalaya Amavasya marks the auspicious dawn of Pitru Paksha, a dedicated period to remember and honor our ancestors. Food offerings during this time are believed to carry heightened merit, helping to lift Pitru Dosh and inviting blessings from generations past. Kaliputra Mission embraced this belief not as ritual alone but as a sacred duty: to nourish the living while honoring those who came before, inviting spiritual grace into the present through compassionate action.

The Annadhanam drive unfolded as a testimony to devotion realized through service, serving an extraordinary 13,828 meals in a single day across the nation. In Pandalam, Kerala, the Thonallur Devi Ksethram temple became a sanctified stage for devotion, where an 11-foot Adya MahaKali Kollam—an intricate, radiant drawing—adorned the Nadapandal. Created by Anurag, a devoted volunteer, the artwork wrapped the moment in sacred artistry, reminding all who gathered of the divine presence guiding the mission.

This luminous achievement rested on the steadfast, compassionate leadership of Akshatha Mahesh and Sri Santosh Kumar G, a retired honorary captain of the Indian Army and president of Seva Bharathi - Kulanada. They shepherded a core cadre of 25 senior volunteers, whose disciplined, loving hands turned vision into grace-filled reality, serving thousands with dignity and care.

A Living Heartbeat of Community

The mission’s outreach resonated within temples and neighborhood streets, drawing crowds in Thane, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Delhi. In Anbudan Illam, Pudukottai, an elderly home lovingly adopted by Dr. Narayanan, 570 residents received shelter, nourishment, and compassionate attention. Four special meals were served that day, a living expression of reverence for the aged and the vulnerable.

In Tiruvannamalai, the Anbudan Foundation’s beacon, volunteers nourished every soul—from the youngest child to the oldest elder—infusing the meal with gratitude and joy. Even the wandering Sadhus along Girivalapath Road tasted the warmth of service, their smiles a soft benediction to the day.
