KaamGenie Launches in Delhi NCR With a New Standard for India's Home Services Industry

KaamGenie Delhi s New Standard for Home Services

Most Indian families still book home services workers, much like they did twenty years ago. You have a number from a sticker, the person shows up without identification, gives you one price on the phone, another at the door, and once the 90-minute job is finished in 20 minutes, that person leaves without any paperwork. If things go wrong, this number will be dead a week later. Delhi-based KaamGenie is a business set to change the trend.

KaamGenie is revolutionizing India's home services in Delhi NCR, addressing issues like price opacity and unreliable workers. With verified professionals, transparent pricing, and documented standards, KaamGenie aims to restore trust and accountability. Discover how this new platform is setting a benchmark for quality and customer satisfaction.

It's a straight-forward idea. Each cost of each provision is displayed in advance to the customer who calls.

All crew members are dressed in uniforms, have verified identification, and are trained to a documented standard. Before and after pictures and the digital job sheet completed on site are included at the end of each completed job.

The Indian home services market turns over crores and employs millions of workers, but has next to no price transparency or service documentation that customers are accustomed to across all other modern categories. Food delivery publishes its prices. Ride-hailing shows the driver and the fare. E-commerce tracks every order.

A homeowner booking a plumber, an electrician, a deep cleaning crew, or a pest control visit in 2026 still many websites have no published price to compare, no easy way to verify who is at the door, and no record once the work is done.

That opacity is paid for twice. Customers pay through overcharging, no-shows, and a steady erosion of trust which has led the way in how Indian families think about hiring help. Honest workers pay too, as most are underpaid and earn less than they are due when they compete on visible price against operators willing to cut corners that customers cannot see.

KaamGenie was founded by Mohib Alam, a Delhi-based entrepreneur who has worked in the service industry for over nineteen years across domestic and international markets before turning to the home services industry. His diagnosis of the problem is structural rather than personal.

"I experienced the same broken system for almost two decades. I was in both service and the customer trying to get someone like a plumber, an electrician, or a cleaning crew to come to my house in South Delhi," Alam explained. "Every time I would call, there was a pricing inconsistency. The person answering the phone would give me one price. The person arriving would then charge me a different price.

In addition to the pricing there were also inconsistencies in the job performed, with only half completed and the service provider disappearing. Over time you have no expectation for the industry to provide you with any different service from what you've come to expect. This is the area KaamGenie wants to change; not necessarily the job/service provided, but rather the expectation of the customer."

KaamGenie's response is focused on the company's operation and not on promoting itself. Pricing for all tiers of service can be viewed on the company's website and all prices include GST for residential bookings and societies and resident welfare associations will also be able to view their bulk pricing on the same page.

All new hire crews will have to complete not only a mandatory training program, but will also have their identities verified and will have to show a uniformed dress code before they can work on their first solo job. The next step before the crew will begin their first solo job is for them to work alongside an experienced supervisor for at least one full job. After completing their solo job, a qualified supervisor will review the job sheet and a payment made.

According to Alam, "We didn't create any of these concepts—the banks confirm who their staff are, hospitals document their procedures, and food delivery has published their prices. We're just bringing the same base to home services in India. This took building the company from nothing, as no existing service provider would."

According to Alam, the KaamGenie approach is primarily focused on the operating discipline of the company, rather than the marketing aspect. At this point, KaamGenie is providing services in the Delhi NCR region, specifically South, Central, and certain areas of East and West Delhi. Full-scale expansion into neighbouring regions such as Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad is anticipated in the next two quarters. When KaamGenie launches, it will offer a limited number of service categories — with an emphasis on those categories — with further categories added over time through 2026 and 2027 for both residential and RWA customers, including commercial entities. Customers will also be able to obtain annual maintenance terms through societies and commercial properties beginning on day one of operations.

Further, the company is actively recruiting crew members and supervisors as well as onboarding partner organizations. This is indicative of the company's operating model scale, that is significantly larger than that of an individual founder-led company.

Partner organizations receive continuous access to a high volume of verified bookings from customers. Customers in turn receive a discrete point of contact for all services from an individual who will be accountable to them. For Alam, the scalability of the operating model is critically important. As he uses the analogy, "for a standard to hold in an organization, it must also hold in the absence of the founder," which is why he places significant emphasis on documenting the operational processes, including pricing, photographs and all other supporting documentation.

KaamGenie believes that families in India want to use home services in the same manner as all other modes of operation today, which is to provide real pricing information, to show the actual person providing a service, and to provide proof of service through photos, for example. If they are correct, KaamGenie will have not only created a brand, but have fundamentally changed what a customer can expect when hiring someone to come into their home to do a service for them.
