YouTuber Chandi Masood Murdered At Home, Wife’s Brother Main Suspect: Police

A 30-year-old YouTuber and electrician, known online as Chandi Masood, was allegedly murdered inside his residence in Hyderabad's Golconda area on Friday afternoon. Police suspect that an ongoing family dispute may have led to the fatal attack.

The victim, identified as Shaik Mahaboob, was well-known among local fitness enthusiasts for sharing bodybuilding-related content on YouTube under the name "Masood Chandi", where he had built a following of more than 2,500 subscribers.

Attack Reportedly Took Place After Friday Prayers

According to police, the incident occurred at around 3:20 pm at Masood's residence in Kumarwadi, under the limits of the Golconda Police Station.

Investigators said Masood had returned home after offering Friday prayers when he noticed a group of people allegedly trailing him. Concerned for his safety, he hurried into his house. However, the suspects are believed to have entered the residence forcibly and launched a violent assault.

Sharp And Blunt Weapons Allegedly Used

Police officials stated that the attackers used both sharp and blunt objects during the attack. Preliminary findings indicate that iron rods and gym equipment were allegedly used to inflict severe injuries, particularly to the victim's head.

The assault left Masood critically injured. He died at the scene before medical assistance could shift him to a hospital.

Authorities have launched an investigation and are gathering evidence from the crime scene to establish the sequence of events.

Wife's Brother Named As Main Accused

Police have identified Shaik Sohail, the brother of Masood's wife, as the prime suspect in the case. Investigators said Sohail was allegedly accompanied by two associates, identified as Afu and Jabir, during the attack.

Efforts are underway to trace the accused and determine the exact circumstances surrounding the murder.

Love Marriage And Family Tensions Under Scanner

Investigators believe the crime may be linked to a long-running dispute between Masood and members of his wife's family.

Police sources said Masood had married his wife around 18 months ago in a love marriage despite opposition from certain relatives. Although the couple later welcomed a child, tensions between Masood and his in-laws reportedly continued.

Officials are examining whether these strained family relations played a direct role in the killing. Further investigation is ongoing.
