Yellow Alert For Telangana: IMD Warns Of Rain, Gusty Winds In 8 Districts
On April 22, 2025, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted mild to moderate rain or thundershowers in a few isolated locations in Telangana. The IMD has issued a yellow notice in addition to the rainfall, warning of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty gusts of 30 to 40 kmph in a number of districts.
Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal are the districts most likely to be impacted by this weather disturbance. The warning indicates that abrupt weather changes may occur in these places, especially in the late afternoon and evening.

During the summer, these pre-monsoon thunderstorms are common and can cause wind-related disruptions as well as brief but heavy downpours. It is recommended that residents stay indoors during storms, stay out of trees, and not use electrical devices when lightning strikes.
Because lightning and strong winds can endanger agricultural and rural infrastructure, the IMD has advised farmers in these districts to safeguard their livestock and crops.
The public is encouraged to heed safety advisories and monitor official weather updates. Such weather phenomena are predicted to happen more frequently as summer approaches and atmospheric instability increases.
To safeguard their safety during this potentially dangerous period of rain and storms, residents in the impacted areas are urged to take the appropriate safety precautions and keep abreast of evolving weather trends.
