WATCH: BRS MLA Attacks BJP Leader During TV Debate
A televised discussion hosted by a Telugu news channel ahead of the Telangana Legislative Assembly election took an ugly turn on Wednesday as a physical altercation ensued between a BRS MLA and his BJP opponent.
In the viral video, the BRS MLA is seen assaulting the BJP leader. However, police and others intervened and separated the duo, the video showed.

G Kishan Reddy, the State BJP President and Union Minister, alleged that KP Vivekanand, the BRS MLA representing Quthbullapur in Hyderabad, assaulted Kuna Srisailam Goud, the BJP candidate from the same constituency, in response to his inability to respond to a question posed by Goud.
Vivekanand attacking Goud by holding the latter's throat is an act of timidity, Reddy said in a statement. He said police should book a case against the BRS MLA failing which the BJP would take up a legal battle.
"It's shocking when a contesting opposition candidate is attacked and scuffled in open public, imagine if BRS returns to power even common people will be attacked in same manner?" Reddy said on Twitter.
Sravan Dasoju, the BRS spokesperson, asserted that during the debate, Goud had alluded to the BRS MLA's father, despite the expectation that both should maintain decency and decorum. According to him, it was imperative for both individuals to demonstrate restraint and maintain decorum.
The BJP leader should not have driven the debate 'attacking' Vivekanand's parents in the first place and BRS MLA should not have attacked his rival. "Both could have been sensible and realised the whole world is watching them," Dasoju added.
Polling will be held in Telangana on November 30 and votes will be counted on December 3.
