Telangana: Voter turnout increased, total 70 per cent vote recorded
Over 28 million voters will cast their ballots in the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana region. A total of 265 candidates were in the fray out of which 12 were women. Besides, 1,665 candidates contested for 119 assembly seats.

7:25 pm: Total 70 per cent votes have been recorded in Telangana. Vote count has increased this time as the region had recorded 67.98 per cent vote in 2009.
6:00 pm: Polling went peaceful except stray incidents in Telangana. In Nizamabad district an average of 67 per cent polling recorded by 5 pm.

5:15 pm: Actress-turned-politician Vijayashanti took a polling official to task in Medak on Wednesday alleging that he was forcing people to vote for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. At the Muttaiguda polling station in Medak, Vijayashanti pulled up a polling official whose name is Madhusudhan. She charged him with working for the TRS.
"When an aged voter wanted to vote for the hand symbol (Congress), the polling official made him press the TRS symbol, which is the car," Vijayashanti said.
