Telangana Weather: IMD Issues Cold Wave Alert For Telangana Until December 14

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad has raised an alarm for a severe cold wave set to sweep across Telangana until December 14. This weather phenomenon is anticipated to bring with it plummeting temperatures, potentially reaching as low as 5 degrees Celsius in several districts until Sunday. The areas most likely to feel the brunt of this cold spell include Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem, Mancherial, and Nirmal.

Adilabad experienced a chilling minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, marking it as the coldest place in the state presently. The cold wave hasn't spared other districts either, with Nirmal, Medak, and Sangareddy recording temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, making for particularly frigid conditions.

IMD Warns Of Cold Wave In Telangana

In Hyderabad, the forecast looks slightly different, with the IMD predicting partly cloudy skies coupled with misty or hazy mornings extending up to December 15. The city is expected to maintain consistent weather patterns across various zones, including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally. Among these, Maredpally noted the lowest minimum temperature at 12.7 degrees Celsius while areas like Bahadurpura, Golkonda, Musheerabad, and Mondamarket have seen temperatures fall below 15 degrees Celsius.

To combat the adverse effects of the cold wave, the IMD has issued an advisory urging the public to take necessary precautions, especially during the early mornings and late evenings when the cold is most severe. People residing in the affected regions are advised to keep warm and take measures to protect themselves against the cold as temperatures continue to decrease throughout Telangana. This advisory aims to ensure the safety and comfort of the population amid the cold weather conditions.

As the cold intensifies, the IMD's alert serves as a crucial reminder for everyone in Telangana to prepare for the chilly days ahead. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about the weather and follow the IMD's advice to minimize the impact of the cold wave on their health and daily activities.
