Telangana MLC Elections 2025: Voting In Progress For Three Constituencies
In the fiercely contested election for three Telangana Legislative Council seats, voting got underway Thursday. The focus is on the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers' Constituency and the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates' and Teachers' Constituency.
From 8 AM to 4 PM, a preferential voting technique will be used for the polling. 90 candidates are running, according to official sources: 19 are contending in the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers' constituency, 15 are participating in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers' constituency, and 56 are running in the Graduates' constituency.

While the current leader of the Congress is only running in the Graduates' constituency, the BJP is putting forth candidates for all three seats. The BRS has decided not to participate in the election.
Senior BJP leaders, including Union Coal Minister and state BJP president G. Kishan Reddy and Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, have actively campaigned for their party's candidates. On the Congress side, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and state Congress president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud have led the campaign. Goud also held a video conference with party mandal unit presidents on Wednesday to evaluate the party's preparedness for polling, according to Congress sources.
By stating that its candidates will solve the issues of graduates, educators, and other educated groups if elected, the BJP has positioned itself as the party that supports teachers and young people without jobs. On March 3, the votes will be counted.
