Telangana HC Grants 4-Week Interim Bail To Allu Arjun in Pushpa-2 Stampede Case
Telangana High Court on Friday granted interim bail for four weeks to Tollywood actor Allu Arjun, who had been arrested in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred during the premiere of his film Pushpa-2: The Rule at Sandhya theater in Hyderabad. Following the High Court's decision, Allu Arjun is expected to be released soon, pending the completion of formalities.
Single-bench Justice Juvvadi Sridevi of Telangana High Court, who heard the interim bail petition application during the post-lunch session, directed the actor to furnish a personal bond of ₹50,000.
The incident, which took place at a local theater on December 4, resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and left her nine-year-old son hospitalized due to asphyxiation.

Earlier, the Nampally Court ordered 14 days of judicial custody for Arjun. The incident occurred on December 4, when a massive crowd gathered at the theatre to see the actor. The chaos led to the death of 35-year-old Revathi due to asphyxiation, while her 13-year-old son, Sreethej, was hospitalized with injuries sustained in the stampede-like situation.
Earlier in the day, Hyderabad Police arrested Allu Arjun after questioning him at the Chikkadpally police station. According to authorities, the lack of proper crowd management and security arrangements was a significant factor in the mishap.
A case was registered under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. The complaint, filed by the victim's family, alleged negligence on the part of the event organisers.
Allu Arjun sought High Court Relief Post-Arrest
Tollywood actor Allu Arjun approached the Telangana High Court, requesting the quashing of the FIR filed against him following his arrest. The High Court indicated its willingness to grant him interim bail. According to Bar and Bench, the judge remarked, "We will grant interim bail for a certain period, and let them avail appropriate remedies meanwhile."
Details of the Case
The case stems from an incident on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of Allu Arjun's latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. A massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the star, leading to a stampede-like situation. Tragically, a woman lost her life, and her son, who was injured, is currently recovering in a hospital.
Following a complaint by the deceased woman's family, Chikkadpally police registered a case against the actor, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Chikkadpally police station. The complaint was lodged by the victim's family, who alleged negligence on the part of the organisers, according to a report in PTI.
