Telangana: Five Killed, One Injured As Car Plunges Into Lake In Yadadri District
Five people tragically lost their lives, and one sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in went out of control and plunged into a lake near Jalalpur village in Bhoodan Pochampally Mandal, located in Telangana's Yadadri Bhongir district, early on Saturday, according to local media reports.
The victims, residents of the LB Nagar area in Hyderabad, were reportedly intoxicated. They had left their homes late at night and travelled to the village early in the morning to consume fresh toddy.

The deceased have been identified as Vamsi (23), Dignesh (21), Harsha (21), Balu (19), and Vinay (21). The injured individual was named as Manikanth (21). All were residents of Hyderabad, as confirmed by police statements reported by India Today.
"The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families following legal formalities. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing," a police official stated.
According to local accounts cited by India Today, the accident occurred when the speeding car lost control, veered off the road, and plunged into the lake in Telangana's Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
Upon being informed of the incident, a team from Telangana Police arrived at the scene, rushed the injured person to a nearby hospital, and retrieved the bodies of the deceased, which were sent for post-mortem examination.
A video from the site shows police and locals working together to recover the car from the lake.
A senior police official confirmed that a case had been registered and stated: "The bodies will be handed over to the families once the legal procedures are complete."
