Telangana And Japan Collaborate To Build Eco Town In Hyderabad

The Telangana government has teamed up with top Japanese businesses to create an Eco Town in Hyderabad that emphasizes environmental innovation and the circular economy, marking a significant step towards sustainable growth. The partnership was formally established during a high-level visit to Kitakyushu, Japan, a city known around the world for its environmental transformation, which was led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu used a bullet train on Saturday from Osaka to Kitakyushu. At the ancient Kokura Castle, Kitakyushu Mayor Kazuhisa Takeuchi extended a cordial welcome to the team, who were entertained by Samurai warriors and traditional Taiko drummers.

Additionally, he emphasized the collaborations with EX Research Institute, P9 LLC, Nippon Steel Engineering, New Chemical Trading, and Amita Holdings, pointing out that they signify not only business cooperation but also growing friendship. Revanth said that Kitakyushu and Hyderabad have a vision for a sustainable, green, and clean future and he applauded Mayor Takeuchi's proposal for a sister-city arrangement between the two cities. "The Eco Town in Kitakyushu is evidence of what dedication and creativity can accomplish. On the basis of this approach, we hope to construct a Net Zero Future City in Hyderabad," he continued.

Minister Sridhar Babu invited Japanese businesses to investigate potential in green industries by showcasing Telangana's pro-investment policies and quick industrial growth.

A number of fresh concepts surfaced during the conversations. A direct flight between Kitakyushu and Hyderabad was something that the Japanese delegation was interested in. In response, the Chief Minister suggested establishing a Japanese-language school in Hyderabad to help close the language barrier and meet Japan's need for a workforce that is youthful and competent.

In order to guarantee consistent growth in their partnership, both parties decided to establish a systematic process for frequent progress reviews with deadlines.

To learn more about Japan's circular economy techniques, the Telangana delegation also visited industrial recycling facilities and Kitakyushu's Murasaki River restoration project. Kitakyushu's accomplishment in sustainable urban transformation was further demonstrated by a stroll along the river and a visit to the environmental museum.
