Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case: CCTV Shows Police Escorting Allu Arjun Out Of Theatre; Video Sparks Debate

Telugu actor Allu Arjun attended the premiere of his film "Pushpa 2" in Hyderabad, despite police denying permission. A stampede-like situation occurred at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, resulting in a woman's death and her eight-year-old son being hospitalised in a coma. A video has surfaced showing police escorting Arjun out, supporting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's statement that the actor was ejected from the venue.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy addressed the assembly, stating that Allu Arjun attended the premiere against police advice. The actor reportedly waved from his car's sunroof, causing a roadshow-like scene that led to chaos. The incident tragically resulted in a 35-year-old woman's death and her son's critical injury. Despite this, Arjun remained at the cinema until police intervened.

Police Emphasise Public Safety Over Film Promotions

Telangana Police chief Jitender emphasised that public safety takes precedence over film promotions. "We have nothing personally against Allu Arjun or any other individual. The promotion of a film is not as important as the safety of people. They are heroes in films, but on the ground, they should also understand the problems of society," he stated.

Allu Arjun has refuted these claims, asserting he followed protocol. He mentioned seeking permission from theatre management and entering only after police cleared his path. "I am a law-abiding citizen. I would have left if I were told that there is no permission," he explained.

Allu Arjun Denies Holding Roadshow

The actor clarified that he did not conduct a roadshow or procession but merely waved to fans before entering the theatre. He insisted no police officer asked him to leave and claimed his manager informed him about the uncontrollable crowd outside.

The tragic incident highlights tensions between celebrity events and public safety measures. As investigations continue, authorities stress the importance of adhering to guidelines to prevent such occurrences in future events.
