Revanth Reddy Not The First Choice For Top Post? Kharge To Decide Next Telangana CM, Says DKS

Amid playing an instrumental role in bringing Congress to power in Telangana, Revanth Reddy seems to be a not a first choice for the post of Chief Minister.

As per the speculations, CM Aspirants in Telangana such as Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Uttham Kumar Reddy have met AICC observer DK Shivakumar at Hayat Hotel and they are okay with anybody other than Revanth Reddy.

The newly-elected Telangana Congress MLAs meet on Monday and the meeting was held in the presence of senior leaders and AICC observers.

Reddy won from Kodangal constituency with a margin of over 32,000 votes defeating his nearest BRS rival Patnam Narender Reddy.

The Congress leader however lost from Kamareddy. The near 10 year-old rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) came to an end on Sunday, even as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao tendered resignation from his post, which was accepted by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. Rao was asked to continue in office till the formation of the new government.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, DK Shivakumar said that the ball is in the high command's court and the central leadership will choose the CM.

Shivakumar said, "Today we had a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party of the newly elected members of the party. We thank the people of the state for allowing us to form our govt here...All the members of the newly elected Congress party unanimously resolved to authorise Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to appoint the Congress legislature party leader. All have decided that whatever the high command decides, we will go by that..."

Sources say that if Congress High command selects Revanth Reddy as CM Candidate then swearing-in Ceremony of Revanth may be today evening at Raj Bhavan.
