Students at the Osmania University Post Graduate Girls Hostel staged a protest on Saturday within the college premises, highlighting concerns about a security breach. Expressing their grievances, the students emphasized the urgency for the Vice-Chancellor (VC) to address the situation. Questions were raised about the VC's absence, with one student stating, "We are just asking for VC to come. Why is he not coming?"

The protest, triggered by a series of unsettling incidents after their return from Sankranti Holidays, underscored the imperative need for the safety of hostel residents.

According to a student protester interviewed by ANI, concerns had been escalating among the hostel occupants since their return from the holidays, citing strange sounds in different rooms.

The situation intensified when a hostel resident reportedly witnessed hands protruding from the ventilator of the washroom on both the ground floor and the first floor.

Recalling the distressing incident, the student protester shared, "Yesterday, the incident happened on two of the floors, the ground floor as well as the first floor at the same time. We have ventilators in our washrooms. The washrooms have little space. She (one of the students) locked herself in the washroom. But she saw hands coming out of the ventilator. She panicked and ran."

In response, the students sought help from their seniors to confront the intruders and managed to apprehend one of them. They are now demanding the capture of the remaining intruders.

Insisting on the Vice-Chancellor's presence to address their concerns, the protester emphasized, "We want the VC to come and address our problem, and we want a solution for all our issues. Security is important. We want proper security where we are staying."
