Mechanic Shop Catches Fire In Vijaynagar Colony, No Casualties Reported

A fire incident was reported in Hyderabad's Vijaynagar Colony in the early hours of Tuesday, January 27, after flames broke out at a local mechanic shop, triggering a swift response from emergency services. The situation was brought under control without any casualties.

Fire Breaks Out in Early Morning Hours

According to officials, the fire was noticed around 2:00 am when smoke began billowing out of the mechanic shop located in Vijaynagar Colony. Local residents alerted the fire department, following which a fire engine was rushed to the site. Firefighters acted quickly and managed to douse the flames before the situation escalated further.

Recent Hostel Fire Raises Safety Concerns

The Vijaynagar Colony incident comes just days after another fire was reported in Hyderabad on January 24 at a ladies' hostel in the Alwal area. That fire reportedly started on the fourth floor after an air conditioner exploded due to a short circuit, causing panic among the students residing in the building. The occupants rushed out after noticing thick smoke and immediately contacted emergency services.

Fire officials later confirmed, "There was a short circuit at Nine Education Hostel, five students were shifted to the hospital for treatment. The fire was brought under control using one fire tender, and there are no casualties."

Emergency Response Prevents Major Damage

Following the alert, teams from the fire department, police, and emergency services were deployed at the hostel site. Firefighters used four fire engines and worked continuously for nearly three hours to completely extinguish the blaze. Their timely intervention ensured that the fire did not spread to adjacent structures.

Officials stated that no injuries were reported in the incident. Meanwhile, the Nampally Police have registered a case related to the Vijaynagar Colony fire and are investigating the exact cause of the outbreak.
