A past endorsement of a real estatement firm has come back to haunt Telugu actor Mahesh Babu as the Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission in Telangana has served a notice to him, following cheating allegations against the company.
A Hyderabad-based doctor filed a complaint against Sai Surya Developers and made Mahesh Babu a third respondent in the case, claiming she was cheated out of ₹34.8 lakh after purchasing non-existent plots, according to a report in Deccan Chronicle.

This development comes months after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Babu in April 2025 as part of a money laundering probe linked to Sai Surya Developers and the Surana Group.
The company's owner, Kancharla Satish Chandra Gupta, is under police scrutiny for defaulting on a major housing project called Green Meadows, The Times of India reported quoting an an earlier report published in PTI. While sources had told the news agency that the Dookudu star was not considered an accused and may have endorsed the project in good faith without knowledge of any fraudulent activities, the fresh legal notice puts the actor under renewed scrutiny.
How Much Did Mahesh Babu Get For Endorsement?
Reports suggest the actor received ₹5.9 crore for the endorsement through cheques and cash transactions, though authorities have not implicated him in financial misconduct. Nonetheless, Mahesh Babu has not responded to the latest development regarding the notice.
On the professional front, the actor continues to focus on his upcoming big-budget film, SSMB29, directed by SS Rajamouli. The jungle adventure drama, featuring Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in pivotal roles, is one of the most anticipated projects in Indian cinema.
