KT Rama Rao Criticizes Congress For Backtracking On Crop Loan Waiver Promise

BRS working president KT Rama Rao strongly criticized the Congress government for failing to fulfill its promise of a full crop loan waiver, calling it a betrayal of Telangana's farmers. He demanded that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi apologize to the people for going back on their word.

Reacting to the government's announcement that loan waivers above ₹2 lakh would not be granted, Rama Rao accused Congress of misleading farmers for electoral gains. He reminded that Congress leaders made vows at temples and swore on deities, promising a complete loan waiver, only to retract their commitment after securing power.

He further condemned the party for contradicting its own Warangal Declaration, stating that the Congress government had torn apart its own promises. "Before elections, they assured farmers of a loan waiver for all. Now, they limit it to one per family, proving that their promises were mere tactics for votes," he said. Rama Rao asserted that the Congress is now making excuses instead of honoring its commitments, leaving Telangana's farmers feeling deceived.
