Inside Charlapalli Railway Terminal: Hyderabad’s New Travel Hub with World-Class Facilities | Photos

The newly developed Charlapalli Railway Terminal in Hyderabad is set to redefine rail travel with modern infrastructure and world-class amenities. Inaugurated on January 6, the terminal was redeveloped at a cost of ₹430 crore to decongest the city's main railway stations-Secunderabad, Nampally, and Kacheguda-and provide seamless travel for nearly 50,000 passengers daily.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the terminal, which is already operational as a halting point for 25 pairs of trains, facilitating the movement of 50 trains per day. Equipped with lifts, escalators, nine platforms, and extensive parking spaces, Charlapalli is designed to accommodate the city's growing rail traffic for the next 50 years.

Given the heavy congestion at Hyderabad's existing railway stations, Charlapalli is expected to become a new originating station for multiple long-distance trains. The terminal will cater to high-traffic routes such as Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam, ensuring faster and more efficient travel.

Modern Amenities for a Seamless Travel Experience

The newly constructed station building boasts:

• Six booking counters for quick ticketing
• Separate waiting halls for men and women
• Upper-class waiting areas and an executive lounge on the ground floor
• A first-floor cafeteria, restaurant, and feeding cabins for mothers
• Restroom facilities for both men and women

To enhance efficiency, 19 tracks have been provided, ensuring smooth train operations. Several prominent trains, including Gorakhpur-Secunderabad Express, MGR Chennai Central-Hyderabad Express, and Shalimar-Hyderabad East Coast Express, are now operating from Charlapalli. Additionally, trains like Guntur-Secunderabad Golconda Express and Secunderabad-Sirpur Kagaznagar Express will have halts at the new terminal.

Although the grand inauguration took place on January 6, access to cover the station in its entirety was initially restricted. However, Oneindia Telugu has now obtained exclusive permission to capture and showcase stunning images of Charlapalli's world-class railway terminal.
