Hyderabad To Get Major Traffic Boost As ₹530 Crore Miyapur Flyover Project Gets Approval

The Telangana government has cleared a major infrastructure project aimed at tackling worsening traffic congestion in Hyderabad's northwestern corridor, granting administrative approval for a new six-lane flyover connecting Allwyn Colony and Miyapur. The proposed structure, which will pass over Anjaiah Nagar, is expected to significantly reduce travel delays across some of the city's busiest junctions.

₹530 Crore Flyover Cleared By Telangana Government

According to officials, the flyover will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹530 crore. Out of the total allocation, ₹330 crore has been set aside for construction activities, while another ₹200 crore will be used for land acquisition required for the project.

The flyover will stretch approximately 1.8 kilometres and will have a width of 24 metres. With administrative approval now in place, authorities are expected to begin the land acquisition process in the coming weeks before moving towards the construction phase.

Key Hyderabad Junctions Expected To Get Relief

The project has been planned to ease pressure on several heavily congested traffic points in Hyderabad, especially across Balanagar, Kukatpally, JNTU and Nizampet. These junctions currently witness severe bottlenecks during peak office and industrial traffic hours.

Officials believe the new corridor will help streamline vehicle movement between the city's industrial suburbs and residential areas, reducing travel time for thousands of daily commuters.

Industrial Areas To Benefit From Improved Connectivity

At present, motorists travelling from areas such as Gajularamaram, Shapur Nagar, Jeedimetla and Chintal are forced to pass through multiple traffic-heavy stretches including Balanagar Y Junction, Kukatpally, JNTU, Nizampet and Hyder Nagar to reach destinations like Miyapur, Lingampally and Patancheru.

Once completed, the new flyover is expected to provide a smoother route through Jagadgirigutta, allowing commuters to reach Allwyn Colony with minimal traffic signal interruptions.

Project Aimed At Faster Commute Across Kukatpally Belt

Officials said the flyover will not only improve traffic movement along the Miyapur corridor but also help decongest Kukatpally and neighbouring regions that have seen rapid urban growth over the years.

The government sees the project as part of a larger effort to strengthen Hyderabad's urban road infrastructure and improve connectivity between residential zones and industrial hubs.
