Hyderabad Rain: Massive Overnight Showers Lash Telangana, Bhoothpur Records Highest Rainfall

Heavy overnight rainfall swept across several districts of Telangana, bringing widespread showers to south, central and western parts of the state and offering relief from the intense heat conditions that had persisted in recent days. Districts including Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Gadwal, Narayanpet, Nizamabad and Vikarabad witnessed significant rainfall activity during the night.

The showers also impacted Hyderabad, where rain continued steadily across several areas through the night, leading to cloudy weather conditions on Wednesday morning.

Bhoothpur Receives State's Highest Rainfall

According to rainfall data, Bhoothpur in Mahabubnagar district recorded the highest rainfall in Telangana with 112 mm precipitation during the overnight spell. The intense rainfall was part of a larger weather system that brought widespread showers across multiple districts.

Several low-lying areas reported water accumulation as the rains continued for hours. However, the showers also brought much-needed respite from the soaring temperatures experienced across the state over the past few days.

Hyderabad Witnesses Steady Overnight Showers

In Hyderabad, multiple neighbourhoods experienced continuous rainfall overnight, with weather conditions remaining overcast on Wednesday morning. Within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, Malkajgiri recorded the highest rainfall at 21.3 mm.

The rainfall activity left roads wet and traffic movement slower in some stretches during the early morning hours, while residents woke up to cooler temperatures and cloudy skies.
