Upon receiving the news, Medchal police swiftly arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Authorities assured the students that the matter would be thoroughly examined, and stringent action would be taken against those responsible. A case was filed against several suspects, and some arrests were made. The suspects are currently being taken to the police station for further questioning. The investigation is ongoing, and the incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of female students in hostels.

The college management has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Srinivas Reddy informed the media that the female students raised concerns about private videos being recorded in the hostel washroom. "A case has been registered following their complaint. The students suspect the involvement of five hostel workers. We are currently examining fingerprints found on the washroom window," he stated.

"We have already reviewed the phones of the five suspects, but no videos were discovered. However, the phones have been sent to a forensic lab to check if any videos were deleted," he added.

This incident echoes a similar protest that took place a few months ago at S R Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, where students made similar allegations. The students shared their grievances with Mines Minister K Ravindra, who, acting on the instructions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, visited the college along with the district collector and superintendent of police.
