The department has urged residents to remain cautious during periods of intense weather, particularly in areas vulnerable to waterlogging and lightning strikes.
Temperatures Set To Dip As Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued
Alongside the rainfall forecast, IMD has predicted a gradual decline in daytime temperatures over the next five days. Maximum temperatures across the state may drop by 2°C to 5°C.
Despite the expected cooling trend, most districts are still likely to record daytime temperatures between 36°C and 40°C.
A severe thunderstorm alert has also been issued for Monday, covering Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.
The warning also highlights the possibility of lightning strikes and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph at isolated locations. Authorities have advised people to monitor official weather updates and take necessary precautions during adverse weather conditions.
