Fire Erupts at Factory in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally, Causing Rs 5-10 Lakh in Damage

A massive fire broke out at MN Polymers in Prashanth Nagar, Kukatpally, on Sunday night, causing significant damage to the facility. The factory, which manufactures paper plates and plastic glasses, was engulfed in flames after a suspected short circuit triggered the blaze. The fire quickly spread, consuming raw materials and finished products stored on the premises.

Balanagar Fire Officer Jaganmohan arrived at the scene and supervised the rescue operations, ensuring a swift and efficient response. Firefighters battled the flames for over three hours before successfully bringing the situation under control. Thankfully, no injuries or casualties were reported.

The sudden fire outbreak caused panic among workers, who rushed to evacuate the building as the flames intensified. Local residents, noticing the blaze, immediately alerted the fire department, which responded promptly to prevent further escalation.

The financial loss is yet to be fully assessed, but preliminary estimates suggest damages worth Rs 5-10 lakh. The fire destroyed a large portion of the factory's inventory, including raw materials and finished goods ready for sale. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the short circuit and assess whether any safety violations contributed to the incident. Officials are also reviewing fire safety protocols at the facility to prevent similar incidents in the future.

On February 22, 2025, a tipper truck caught fire in Kachavani Singaram, Medchal, but quick action by the driver and firefighters prevented casualties. The same day, a fire at Manikanta Timber Depot in Karmanghat, Saroornagar, caused significant damage but was controlled within an hour.

With multiple fire incidents occurring in a short span, authorities are urging businesses and residents to follow strict fire safety measures. Investigations are underway to determine the causes and ensure proper precautions are in place to prevent further mishaps.
