Did Allu Arjun Lose His Legs? Then Why Did Tollywood Rush To Him? CM Revanth Blasts Film Stars In Assembly

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday lashed out at actor Allu Arjun and film industry over the stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, which claimed the life of a woman named Revathi and left her son, Sritej, with severe brain injuries. The incident has drawn widespread attention and raised questions about accountability.

Telangana CM On Pushpa 2 Stampede

Speaking in the Telangana Assembly, the CM detailed how the Sandhya Theatre management had sought security from the Chikkadapalli Police Station on December 2, anticipating large crowds due to the attendance of the film's key cast and crew, including Allu Arjun. However, the police denied the request, citing the theater's limited entry and exit points and the crowded surroundings, warning that it would be unsafe to allow such high-profile visits.

He pointed out that there are over 10 theatres on the road and defended the authorities' decision to deny permission.

Allu Arjun Arrived Despite Denying Permission: Reddy

Despite permission being denied, Allu Arjun arrived at the Sandhya theatre, greeting fans from the roof of his car. This sparked chaos as a massive crowd surged to see him, leading to a stampede when the theater gate was opened to allow his vehicle inside.

Reddy revealed that the DCP had personally warned Allu Arjun about the risks and urged him to leave the premises, but the actor reportedly did not comply immediately. The worsening situation ultimately resulted in Revathi's death and injuries to several others.

The CM accused Allu Arjun of negligence, stating that despite knowing the gravity of the situation, the actor remained at the theatre.

Reddy said, "Aise insaan bhi hote hain is duniya mein (Such people also exist in this world). Even after a deadly stampede, Allu Arjun stood there, waving to fans instead of taking responsibility."

The Chief Minister also criticized the Telugu film industry's response to the incident. He questioned why so many from the industry visited Allu Arjun at his home following the tragedy instead of showing support to Revathi's injured son, who remains hospitalized. Reddy asked if Allu Arjun had suffered any life-altering injuries to warrant such attention.

Nobody Met Victim's Family

"What happened to him (Allu Arjun)? Did he lose his legs or his eyesight? They meet and greet him, but not a single one visited the victim's family.... this is a family that earns just ₹30,000 a month but spent ₹3,000 on tickets because their son is a fan of Allu Arjun," the CM added.

He called upon the Telugu film industry to reflect on their priorities and act with greater compassion.

AIMIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi On The Incident

AIMIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi slammed the Telugu actor and said, "When informed about the stampede and the resulting deaths, he reportedly said, 'Now the movie will be a hit.' How can anyone be so heartless?" Owaisi questioned.
