Caught On Cam: Hyderabad Man Dies After Falling Into Water Sump

In a shocking incident, a youth died after he fell into an underground water tank at a hostel in Gachibowli in Hyderabad. The incident was captured on camera and the clip has gone viral.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Sheikh Akmal. He was a software professional, according to a report in NDTV.

In the clip shared by the website, the victim is seen walking in carrying groceries without noticing the square hole of the water tank.

After taking a few steps, he stumbles and plunges into the tank, his chin colliding with the concrete rim of the opening.

Netizens have expressed their shock over the incident while criticising the negligence of the others spotted in the video.

A user said, "In every hostel/PG there is long list of Do's and Don'ts for tenants even though paying an 7-8k for small rooms. @hydcitypolice please check the safety measures in all hostel/PG's to avoid such incidents."
