As Revanth Reddy Becomes Telangana's New CM, His Love Story Goes Viral

Congress legislature party leader A Revanth Reddy was on Thursday sworn in as Chief Minister of Telangana.

Besides Revanth Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka (Deputy Chief Minister), N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, C Damodar Rajanarasimha, D Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha, D Anasuya (popularly known as Seethakka), Tummala Nageswara Rao and Jupally Krishna Rao took oath as ministers.

The Telangana's second Chief Minister after K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is known among fellow politicians, partymen and people for his never-say-die attitude.

An arts graduate, Reddy secured a seat in the Legislative Assembly on a TDP ticket in 2009 and later in 2014 during the bifurcation of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.

In 2015, Reddy faced a significant political challenge when he was purportedly captured on camera attempting to bribe a nominated MLA for a favorable vote in a legislative council election for the TDP.

After losing the 2018 Assembly poll to the BRS candidate, Revanth Reddy experienced a period of political obscurity. Subsequently, he left the TDP and joined the Congress in 2017-18, making the move official in the presence of party leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.

Reddy emerged victorious in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Malkajgiri, a constituency referred to as 'mini-India' due to its diverse demographic.

Despite being a junior member of the Congress, he was appointed as the PCC president in 2021, causing discontent among many senior members in the state Congress unit.

Love Story

However, the lesser-known part of him is about his marriage life.

Revanth Reddy is married to Geeta, who is the niece of late Congress leader Jaipal Reddy. Like in many other love stories, their relationship had faced resistance from her family. In fact, she was not happy with him being in politics.

He had met her when he used to run small businesses, real estate and printing business, according to a report in NDTV. What attracted Geeta about him was his fearlessness and charisma. Hence, despite her family sending her to Delhi to Jaipal Reddy's house, her romance with him continued.

However, they eventually gained approval and they exchanged vows in 1992. The wedding ceremony took place on May 7, 1992, marking the beginning of Reddy's political journey.

The couple has a daughter named Nymisha, who married Satyanarayana Reddy in 2015. Satyanarayana is the son of G Venkat Reddy, the owner of Reddy and Reddy Motors.

Their grand wedding was attended by notable personalities, including former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and actor Chiranjeevi.
