208 Pakistani Nationals In Telangana: Hyderabad Police Begin Deportation Process
The Indian government has quickly tightened security around the nation in the wake of the horrific terror incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali person. Serious tensions between India and Pakistan have been heightened by the attack, which is thought to have been carried out by the "Kashmir Resistance," a group based in Pakistan.
Four Pakistani nationals who were in the city on temporary visas were given notices by Hyderabad police to leave India by Sunday in response to the increased threat. Citing security concerns, officials have decided not to disclose their locations or identities. This action is a part of a larger direction from the Union Home Ministry, which has mandated that Pakistani nationals be identified and deported throughout India.

Around 208 Pakistani nationals presently reside in Telangana, with the majority of them based in Hyderabad, according to the state's director general of police. The present crackdown mostly targets those with short-term or expired visas, even though many are here on long-term visas. To guarantee that visa regulations are properly followed, police teams are actively confirming documentation and taking action.
The government's response has gone beyond internal initiatives. India has closed the Attari border crossing, suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, and revoked all visas previously granted to Pakistani nationals, with the exception of a short 48-hour window for emergency medical situations. In a fresh diplomatic setback, India drastically reduced its diplomatic personnel in Islamabad and removed Pakistani defense experts.
These actions make India's zero-tolerance policy against cross-border terrorism very evident. Attempts are being made to identify and deport foreign nationals who are remaining without the required authority as the situation develops. All Pakistani nationals in India have been urged by authorities to abide by the new regulations and make immediate arrangements for their departure.
