The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Bansda Assembly constituency for the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 is Ganapatbhai Ulukbhai Mahla.
Bansda Assembly seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates. In 2012 Gujarat Assembly elections, Bansda Assembly constituency was won by Congress Party's Chaudhari Chhanabhai Kolubhai who defeated BJP's Nareshbhai Maganbhai Patel by 25,616 votes.
This constituency is a Congress bastion and the BJP has never won from this seat.
Prior to this in 1967 and 1972, Bansda Assembly constituency was won by Ratanbhai G Gavit.
