Congress candidate from Solan Assembly seat in Himachal: Dhani Ram Shandil
Dhani Ram Shandil is contesting the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 from Solan Assembly seat on a Congress ticket. Shandil is the current MLA representing Solan seat in the assembly. In 2012 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, Shandil had defeated BJP's Kumari Sheela by 4,472 votes. Shandil is also a minister in the current government.
According to myneta.info, Shandil is a resident of Kandaghat Tehsil in Solan. He holds a PH.D and MA, M,Phil degrees in political science from HP University, Shimla.
He is a retired army personnel and has assets over Rs 2 cr. He does not have any criminal cases against him.
His wife Anuradha Shandil is a doctor at Jawahar Lal Nehru University Health Centre in New Delhi.
