Congress candidate from Shahpur assembly seat in Himachal: Kewal Singh Pathania
This time around he is contesting on the Congress ticket. In the 2012 elections, his victory margin over Congress’s Choudhary Surender Kumar was a mere 563 votes.
Kewal Singh Pathania a graduate from Dharamshala college.
Pathania started his political career in 1993 and remained District President of National Students Union of India (NSUI) from 1993 to 1995 and became General Secretary of State NSUI from 1995-96.
From 1997 to 1999 he was the National General Secretary NSUI and was also State President of NSUI from 1999 to 2007. Also, he was the Spokesman and Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee. He is the vice chairman Himachal Pradesh Forest Development Corporation. He was Road Transport Corporation vice-Chairman.
