Congress candidate from Pachhad Assembly seat in Himachal: Gangu Ram Musafir
The Congress has fielded Gangu Ram Musafir from the Pachhad Assembly Constituency for Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections 2017. In 2012 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, Musafir had lost to BJP's Suresh Kumar Kashyap by 2805 votes.

72-year-old Gangu Ram Musafir is a veteran politician. Before being defeated by Suresh Kumar in 2012, he had been winning from this seat since 1982. In 1982, Musafir contested as an independent candidate and won, but since 1985 he has been contesting on a Congress ticket.
According to myneta.info, Musafir is a graduate and holds BA degree from Punjab University. His assets are worth over Rs 4 crores and he has no criminal cases against him.
He is a resident of Kujji Tehsil in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district.
