Congress candidate from Nurpur assembly seat in Himachal: Ajay Mahajan

Ranbir Singh Nikka of BJP was the trailing candidate. Ajay Mahajan was the runner-up in 2007 Assembly Elections. He has no criminal cases against him.

Ajay Mahajan was born on 12th September 1958 at Amritsar (Punjab). He is the son of Late Sat Mahajan, former minister and veteran leader of Congress party. Mahajan had been MLA for five terms.

He has a degree in Bachelor of Arts from SMDRSD College, Pathankot (Guru Nanak Dev University). He is a businessman and agriculturist by profession. He was elected as an MLA from the Vidhan Sabha seat in the elections, held in 2012. He won by a margin of 19678 votes. Ranbir Singh Nikka of BJP was the trailing candidate.
