Congress candidate from Nadaun assembly seat in Himachal: Sukhvinder Singh Sukhhu

State Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu has been fielded from the Nadaun seat, which the latter had unsuccessfully contested in the previous election to the 68-member Assembly.

Sukhu, a grassroots worker of the Congress party and an organisational man, is facing BJP's first-timer MLA and former student leader of the BJP Vijay Agnihotri, who had defeated the HPCC chief with a margin of votes in 2012. Sukhu, who has started his political career as the student leader of NSUI, won the seat twice in the last three polls.

According to myneta.info, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhhu is a Postgraduate. He completed M.A, LLB from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla in 1991. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhhu has stated his profession as Pensioner, Pvt. Contractor, Self Employed & Party Leader. He is married and his wife is a Self Employed Pvt. Tutor.

Sukkhu has been visiting one village after the other in a bid to woo the voters. He has been telling the people what he and the Congress have done for the constituency. He is ably assisted by his wife, Kamlesh Kumari, who is also taking a group of women around in the constituency, seeking votes in favour of her husband and the party.

In the 2012 Assembly polls, Sukkhu had secured 24,555 votes as against the 31,305 votes of BJP's Agnihotri and a heavy polling of 78.37 per cent was recorded in Nadaun.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhhu has no criminal cases against him. His assets are worth of 5 crores.
