She had also remained a minister in Himachal Pradesh government in the past. She was a Rajya Sabha MP for two terms. SHe was elected for the first time in 2006 and her second term was from 2014.
Viplove Thakur was born on October 4, 1943, in Dharamshala district. She is the daughter of the former Kutlehar legislator, Sarla Sharma.

Viplove's father Paras Ram, a CPI leader, was also in the Himachal Pradesh assembly, in 1967. She completed her B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Punjab University, Chandigarh. She was a minister from 1995 to 1998.
1995-98 Minister of State (Independent charge), Indian System of Medicines, Government of Himachal Pradesh. She had also remained a minister in Himachal Pradesh government in the past. She was a Rajya Sabha MP for two terms. SHe was elected for the first time in 2006 and her second term was from 2014.
