BJP candidate from Shimla Rural Assembly seat in Himachal: Pramod Sharma
BJP candidate from Shimla Rural Assembly Constituency for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 is Dr Pramod Kumar Sharma. Pramod Sharma is a professor in the HP University in Shimla.
The High Court had in October rejected the plea of HP University to set aside the interim order passed by the HP State Administrative Tribunal in favour of Pramod Sharma. The Tribunal, in its interim order, had stayed the provision of the HP University Ordinance which debars a teacher and employees of the university from taking any part in any political activity.

Sharma
is
a
creation
of
Virbhadra
Singh
who
is
said
to
have
funded
him
to
fight
as
an
independent
against
Congress
veteran
Vidya
Stokes
in
two
previous
elections.
Pramod
Sharma
is
50-years-old
and
a
resident
of
Inder
Nagar
in
Shimla.
According to myneta.info, Sharma holds a PHd in Management of DICs from HP University.
Sharma's assets are worth over Rs one crore and he has no criminal cases against him.
