BJP candidate from Shahpur assembly seat in Himachal: Sarveen Chaudhary

She was Mandal Pradhan, Mahila Morcha of BJP between 1992-94. She has been Member, State Executive since 1993. She was elected to State Legislative Assembly in 1998.

Sarveen Chaudhary is an elected Member of Himachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly, representing Shahpur Assembly segment in Kangra District. She is the daughter of Gurdev Singh. She was born in Dharamshala on 21st January 1966.

She holds an M.A in Classical Dance and a Diploma in Yoga, Painting and Cookery. She is married to Brigadier Pawan Kumar. She took part in Nehru Yuva Kendra and N.S.S. activities during her student days. She participated in folk dance competitions at National and International level; and was the best Folk Dancer of Punjab University for five years. She entered politics in 1992.

She was Mandal Pradhan, Mahila Morcha of BJP between 1992-94. She has been Member, State Executive since 1993. She was elected to State Legislative Assembly in 1998; re-elected in 2007. She was Parliamentary Secretary from 03-11-1998 to March 2003. She was also Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment from 09-01-2008 to December 2012.
