BJP candidate from Kinnaur Assembly seat in Himachal: Tejwant Singh Negi

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s candidate from Kinnaur Assembly Constituency for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 in Tejwant Singh Negi. In 2012 Himachal Pradesh polls, Tejwant Singh Negi was defeated by Congress party's Jagat Singh Negi by 6288 votes.

In 2007 polls, Tejwant Singh Negi had won from this seat by defeating Jagat Singh Negi.

Though the seat has never been a bastion of any party, the Congress won the seat five times while the BJP wrested the seat thrice. The BJP is depending on the legacy of Thakur Sen Negi and development works undertaken by the BJP governments from 1998-2003 and 2007-2012.

Tejwant Singh Negi is 56-years-old and a resident of Sangla Tehsil in Kinnaur district.

According to myneta.info, Tejwant Singh Negi is a graduate and holds BA degree from Government Degree College Sanjauli.

Negi's assets are worth over Rs 5 crores and he has no criminal cases against him.
