BJP: Ramesh Dhavala: Ramesh Dhavala is the son of Late Sh Roop Lal. Dhaval studied till matriculation. He is an agriculturist by profession. Ramesh Dhavala was the lone independent candidate in Himachal Pradesh assembly in 1998. Later, he joined BJP.

He was Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs minister for the BJP government. As per Myneta website, Ramesh Dhavala has one criminal case against him. His interests are social service and providing monetary help to the poor. He registered three consecutive victories from 1998 till 2007.
