New Delhi, July 4: Congress leader Digvijay Singh claimed yesterday in Panaji that he was the most abused man on social networking websites.

Is Digvijay feeling sad because of social media attacks or happy that he is such a popular man on social media?

We do not know what Digvijay feels at the moment but both feeling are possible, depending on what you are looking for.

But, Digvijay should remember that he will attract attention as long as he is in public life.

In public life there would be more enemies than friends. Digvijay is most vocal of the Congress leaders and is a visible face on television screens. This attracts attention, comments and criticism of opinions expressed by him. It cannot be avoided.

However, if Digvijay is feeling sensitive about criticism he has the choice. Take the advice of Sidney Greenberg, an American rabbi and author, or do as Elbert Hubbard, an American writer and philosopher, said.

Greenberg had said "a successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him."

What Hubbard said: "To avoid criticism do nothing, say nothing, be nothing."

But, if Divijay wants to continue his activism and make his word count he should read Marcus Aurelius. The Roman emperor and stoic philosopher had said "nothing that goes on in anyone else's mind can harm you." Social media is nothing but loud thinking!

Will be active on social media

It looks like Digvijay wants to be active on social media. He said yesterday in Goa that the Congress will "aggressively venture into the social media arena" to take on campaign by BJP's election campaign manager, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

"You will see difference within three months, although Digvijay Singh is the most abused person on social media," he said, referring to the Congress party's plan to opt for a social media campaign.

He interacted with elected representatives, Pradesh Congress committee members and office bearers of the party today, during his day long visit here. Addressing the gathering, Singh appealed the workers to counter the information campaign run by the BJP and the Sangh Parivar through the social media.

"Congress leaders should activate their Facebook and Twitter accounts to launch an information campaign," he added.

The most abused leader has declared war for Delhi. For battle reports, activate your social media accounts.
