Orissa mining scam hits govt in 2011

The Orissa Vigilance Department made an allegation on Sep 28, 2011 against B Pravakaran, Managing Director of Triveni Earth Movers alleging him of taking illegal control over 10 major iron ore mines in Orissa from last eight years, which could have caused a loss of Rs 3 lakh crore to the exchequer.

The state vigilance department for illegal mining has already charge-sheeted five mining companies and Sirajuddin Mines, Rungta Mines and the Indrani Patnaik Mines are three among them.
