Orissa mining scam hits govt in 2011
The Orissa Vigilance Department made an allegation on Sep 28, 2011 against B Pravakaran, Managing Director of Triveni Earth Movers alleging him of taking illegal control over 10 major iron ore mines in Orissa from last eight years, which could have caused a loss of Rs 3 lakh crore to the exchequer.

The state vigilance department for illegal mining has already charge-sheeted five mining companies and Sirajuddin Mines, Rungta Mines and the Indrani Patnaik Mines are three among them. Orissa CM Naveen Patnaik is yet to take any tangible action on this front. [Read: The complete details of the illegal mining]
