Jayalalithaa bulldozes DMK, Centre in 2011

After her two consecutive defeats, Jayalalithaa's swooping win over the DMK was quite expected one. She won 199 of Tamil Nadu's 234 assembly seats.

Making sure she did not repeat the mistakes she made in the past, Jayalalithaa descended from her 'ivory tower' so as to show her oneness with the public.
