Hooch Tragedy:- Illicit Liquor consumes 177 lives
Within a week, the city of joy faced another tragedy, the preliminary reports indict that the hooch was sold in sachets, priced between Rs 7 and Rs 20. On Dec 15 2011, the victims had consumed illicit brew , that claimed 177 lives people at Sangrampur in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

The West Bengal criminal investigation department arrested three prime accused for this case. But Khora Badshah, the kingpin of the trade is still absconding. Nurjahan Bibi - the wife of prime suspect Noor Islam Sheikh alias Khora Badshah, Bakkar alias Bakreswar and Ghulam Rasool alias Chotu were arrested by the team.
