PM Narendra Modi With Kannada Icon Dr Rajkumar: Is This Pic Real Or Fake?

A rare photo of Sandalwood's matinee idol late Dr Rajkumar with former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is doing rounds on social media.

In the said picture, Dr Raj is seen with his wife Parvathamma Rajkumar along with others. The black-and-white photo was taken at a music event.

Now, this photo has caught the attention of netizens. Many might think that this photo has gone viral because it is a rare photo where the Kannada actor is seen with the late Indian PM.

But the said picture has caught the viewers' attention because of Narendra Modi's presence in it. People sharing on social media sites claim that the Indian PM was once a supporter of the Congress.

However, the truth is it is a fake photo. Someone has replaced the PM's picture with another man, giving the impression that he was present at the event. Original photo can be seen here:

Having entered the film industry in the early 1950s, Rajkumar rose to become one of the foremost actors in Kannada cinema. Nevertheless, his influence on the culture and language of the state extended beyond his accomplishments in the entertainment industry.

It is interesting to note that the Janata Parivar wanted to field Dr Rajkumar against Indira Gandhi in the 1978 by-election from the Chikkamagaluru constituency. The election gave a new lease of life to Gandhi. However, Raj, all his life, distanced himself from politics.
