A mystery has been shrouded after the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared from the radar with 239 passengers in 2014.

The incident took place when the aircraft was flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. At that time, then prime minister Najib Razak had said that the investigation and analysis concluded that the flight likely ended up in a remote part of the southern Indian Ocean.

This incident has been subject to several conspiracy theories. Now a photograph has gone viral with the claim that it is from the wreckage of the missing Malaysian aircraft.

"Malaysia Airplane MH370 that disappeared 9 years ago has been found under ocean with no human skeleton. The plane had 239 passengers on board," read one post by a Twitter user. He also shared images, claiming that they were from the missing Malaysian aircraft.

OneIndia has found that the images are not that of the missing Malaysian aircraft. These images are of an old aircraft that had been deliberately sunk off the coast of Jordan to create an artificial reef. Meanwhile Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 remain untraced till date.

We were unable to find any credible reports about the remains of the Malaysian Airlines being found. Had the wreckage been found, it would have been covered by all media outlets. When the incident took place in 2014, it had created shockwaves across the world.

A reverse image search led us to an Instagram video which has shots which matched the viral photos that are now being shared.

The video was uploaded on the Instagram profile of Deep Blue Dive Center. "Tristar Airplane Wreck Red Sea, Aqaba JO," read the caption of the video.

According to this website, the aircraft is an old Lockheed Martin L1011 TriStar and was intentionally sunken the waters of the Red Sea next to the King Abdullah Reef dive in Jordan.

According to this CNN report, the abandoned jet was sunk in 2019 to create an artificial reef to encourage marine life. The report also said that having remained underwater for such a long time, the plane's wings now sheltered numerous soft corals and the fuselage was surrounded by huge sponges that had been populated by a variety of sea life.

When comparing the two images, it becomes clear that the recent ones being shared with the claim that they are that of the Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 are not right.
