Fact Check: Is Revanth Reddy Taking Oath As New Telangana CM Today?
The Congress on Sunday won 64 Assembly seats to form government in the BRS-dominated Telangana in the midst of a saffron sweep of the Hindi heartland where BJP wrested two states from the grand old party and retained one.
The nearly 10-year-old rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) came to an end on Sunday, even as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao tendered his resignation from his post, which was accepted by the Governor.

Although the Congress has not formally announced that Revanth Reddy, who was instrumental in Congress' victory, will be the next Chief Minister of Telangana, speculations started doing rounds that he will take oath as the new CM of the state.
A letter was doing rounds on social media sites claiming that Revanth would be taking oath as the CM on Monday. It claimed that the Congress leaders such as Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with several other dignitaries will be attending the ceremony.
In addition to it the viral letter claimed that authorities have been instructed to make security arrangements in view of the oath-taking ceremony.
However, it has turned out to be a fake letter, the Telangana Congress has clarified.
Sources from the Telangana Congress have noted that only the CLP meeting is scheduled to be held on Monday.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Congress leaders on Sunday met Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and staked a claim to form the government in the state.
"Today, under the leadership of our in-charge General Secretary (of Congress) Manikrao Thakre, the PCC president, former PCC president and all our AICC observers, we met the Governor, we claimed to form the government," Shivakumar, who was one of the AICC observers appointed by AICC president to coordinate the meetings of Congress Legislature Party (CLP), told reporters.
Shivakumar said the Congress has staked claim to form the government with the support of 65 members in the newly-elected House.
Congress has won 64 out of the total 119 seats in the elections to the Legislative Assembly, while its pre-poll ally CPI bagged one segment.
