Fact Check: Is Narendra Modis BJP Govt Giving Rs 3,000 For All Women Under Laadli Behna Yojana?

However, the Fact Check Department of Press Information Bureau has shot down the claims calling it "fake news."

A video by a Facebook page called 'Tnf Today' claims that all women will get ₹ 3,000 per month under the 'Laadli Behna Yojana'

"This claim is fake," it tweeted, and calrified that no such scheme is being run by the central government.

This is not the first time that such fake news has been doing rounds on the internet. Earlier, there was fake news doing rounds on social media where it claimed that the government is providing jobs and Rs 30 lakh for giving space to install mobile towers.

The digital revolution in India has significantly contributed to the spread of fake news.

With the advent of social media platforms, news and information are spreading rapidly to a global audience. While this can be beneficial for sharing accurate information, it also allows fake news to circulate just as quickly, often before its authenticity can be verified.

However, the Madhya Pradesh is running a scheme called 'Ladli Behna' to give Rs 1,000 per month to women in the age group 23-60. Also in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah goverment has launched 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme to provide Rs 2,000 to the women heads of families, as identified in ration cards (BPL and APL cards), will be eligible for Rs 2,000 financial aid from the government every month.
