Fact Check: Does This Video Show Siddaramaiah Shaking His Leg To A Popular Kannada Song?
The dancing skills of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is well-known. Every year he visits his native village in Mysuru and dances alongside other participants in a folk festival that takes place every year.
Following the mammoth win by the Congress in Karnataka, a video has gone viral on the social media, which shows Siddaramaiah dancing. The video shows a man who resembles Siddaramaiah dancing to a popular Kannada song. A group of people are seen sitting around him and clapping.

OneIndia has learnt that the man dancing in the video is one Channamahagowda from Mysuru and not Siddaramaiah. We found the same viral video from 2018, which makes it clear that the man dancing is not the new chief minister of Karnataka.
We also came across a report in the Bangalore Mirror with the headline, 'Dancing CM is a farmer from Mysuru. "I was told to perform a dance, which I did. This video had no intent to bring a bad name to the CM," he had told reporters at that time.

Reports had said that Channamayigowda had contested the elections against Siddaramaiah in 2013. He later joined the Congress party. We also came across a video interview in which the farmer said that he had danced as part of a cultural programme organised as part of an agriculture workshop in Kaggalipura in Mysuru.
There are a host of media reports which have carried the video and referred to him as a lookalike of Siddaramaiah. Hence it is clear that the man seen dancing in the video is not Siddaramaiah, but his lookalike.
