COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the country and with this comes various theories about how the vaccines are dangerous to people.

Many have taken to the social media to speak about the side-effects of the vaccines and also the long term effects it could have on people. There are several rumours doing the rounds that claim that the vaccines lead to health complications, especially with those who have lower immunity or women are pregnant.

One user on the social media claimed that the getting jabbed with the COVID-19 vaccine will lead to a higher risk of stillbirths and miscarriages among pregnant women.

As opposed to the claims that the vaccines are unsafe for pregnant women and can increase the risk of miscarriages, experts say that the vaccines have been tested multiple times and are completely safe for pregnant women.

To tackle the misinformation, a study was conducted to track the impact on pregnant women. The study was conducted on over 85,000 births in Canada. The study showed no impact on pregnant women who had taken the jab.

There was also no increased risk of miscarriage stillbirth, and the delivery of the baby in each of these cases was normal. Both the mother and baby were found in good health, according to the study conducted in Canada. In addition to this many extensive studies have been conducted on the same issue and it has resulted in the same conclusion.

The rumour mongering comes in the wake of the COVID-19 positivity rate in Delhi NCR showing a massive spike, cross the 14 per cent mark. The positivity rate in Delhi ha caused panic among may. The Delhi government however continues to reiterate that the situation is under control. It has however issued an advisory, asking people with symptoms to wear masks.

On Sunday it was reported that India reported 3,800 COVID-19 cases. This was the highest one-day spike this year, reports had said. The spike in the number of cases has led to the reactivation of COVID-19 protocols in the country.
